Un vin sexy

Sègla, owned by French luxury fashion house Chanel, is every bit as elegant and luxurious as its counterpart fashion brand.

Château Rauzan Ségla is a legendary winery in the infamous Margaux area of Bordeaux, where cabernet and merlot blends have been perfected for hundreds of years. Even Thomas Jefferson ordered a case of Sègla when he visited the vineyard in the 1700s.

The Chanel brand purchased Sègla in the 90s and created a bottle reflecting their knack for style and sex appeal. It’s jet black with rich gold foil, with a subtle Chanel logo on the back of the bottle.

Made mostly of cabernet and merlot, this wine has lots of dark fruit flavor. It has some tannins but is soft and round–it’s complex and elegant without being too big. It’s a classic execution of the Margaux style and is a perfect French wine for elegant evenings and special occasions. In fact, we love to give this as a wedding gift because of its aging potential. Give six bottles and instruct the couple to drink a bottle on their anniversary every five years. The wine will age beautifully with the family over time.
